Machi Hiromitsu (町広光)

Hiromitsu MACHI (MACHINO?) (1444 - July 26, 1504) was a Court noble during the end of the Muromachi period and the Sengoku Period (Period of Warring States). He was the head of the Machi clan from the Yanagiwara family, Hino line of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan. He was appointed to Shonii (Senior Second Rank) and Gon Dainagon (provisional major counselor). He was called Muromachi Dainagon. He became a priest and he called himself Ninjaku. Although he adopted a child from the Takatsuji clan, his family line ended, leading to the establishment and disappearance of the Machi family system.
